About the Role

Job Overview

As a virtual bookkeeper, your primary role is to handle the financial records and transactions of businesses or clients remotely. You will use accounting software and online platforms to manage bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial data, reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, and providing general financial support.

Key Accountabilities

  • Accurately record and maintain financial transactions, including sales, expenses, payments, and receipts using accounting software and digital tools.
  • Manage invoices, process payments, and track outstanding receivables. Monitor and follow up on overdue payments as necessary.
  • Prepare and process payroll, including calculating wages, deductions, and taxes. Ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations.
  • Generate financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into the financial health of the business.
  • Assist in preparing financial information and documentation required for tax filings. Collaborate with tax professionals to ensure accurate and timely tax compliance.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring budgets, analyzing financial data, and providing insights to support business decision-making.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement. Provide recommendations based on financial analysis.
  • Collaborate with clients or team members remotely, responding to inquiries, providing financial advice, and offering support related to bookkeeping matters.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Bookkeeping, Business Administration or any related field. We are considering applications from candidates in the early stages of their careers or Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge and experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
  • Meticulousness and accuracy in recording and analyzing financial data to ensure the integrity of financial records. Efficient and accurate data entry skills, as well as comfort working with numbers and performing calculations.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles and practices, including accrual accounting, financial statements, and financial ratios.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to address accounting discrepancies, identify errors, and propose solutions.
  • Adherence to professional ethics and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with utmost confidentiality.
