About the Role

Job Overview

The Junior Video Editor is responsible for supporting the post-production process for video content. They will assist the Senior Video Editor in editing video footage, selecting and incorporating sound effects, music, and other elements into the final product. The Junior Video Editor will ensure the final video product meets the company’s standards and objectives.

Key Accountabilities

Assist the Senior Video Editor in editing raw video footage
Select and incorporate sound effects, music, and other elements into videos
Use specialized software and equipment to edit and enhance video content
Collaborate with the production team to support the development of creative concepts and ideas for video content
Work closely with the Senior Video Editor to understand the creative vision for each video project
Ensure final video product meets all technical requirements and specifications
Continuously learn and develop skills in video editing software and techniques
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in video editing software and techniques
Manage and organize digital assets and video files
Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Video Editor

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in film studies, cinematography, or related field.
Previous work experience as a video editor, hands-on experience with editing software, including Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro X, Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, and Premier./Portfolio of completed film productions.
Knowledge of video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and Avid. Familiarity with color grading, audio mixing, and other post-production techniques. Understanding of technical requirements and specifications for video production, including video codecs, resolution, and file formats. Familiarity with 3D composition and special effects.
Creative Vision: Ability to understand the creative vision for each video project and assist in developing compelling video concepts and ideas.
Familiarity with specialized equipment such as cameras, microphones, lighting, and etc.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Works closely with the Senior Video Editor and other team members to ensure project goals are achieved.
Ability to manage and organize digital assets and video files. Keeps track of multiple projects and ensures files are easily accessible and organized.
