Job Overview

A copywriter is a professional who specializes in creating persuasive and compelling written content to promote products, services, or brands. Their primary objective is to capture the attention of the target audience, generate interest, and persuade readers to take a desired action.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with clients, marketing teams, or creative directors to understand campaign objectives and develop creative concepts and messaging strategies.
  • Create compelling copy for various marketing materials, including advertisements, websites, landing pages, brochures, social media posts, email campaigns, sales letters, and product descriptions. 
  • Conduct research to understand the target audience, their needs, preferences, and motivations. Tailor the copy to resonate with the target audience and communicate the brand’s value proposition effectively.
  • Work closely with graphic designers or creative teams to ensure that the written content aligns with the visual elements and overall creative concept of marketing materials.
  • Maintain consistency in messaging and tone of voice to align with the brand’s identity and guidelines. Adapt the writing style based on the brand’s personality and target audience.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market competition, and emerging best practices in copywriting. Analyze competitor campaigns and messaging to identify opportunities for differentiation.
  • Optimize copy for search engine visibility by incorporating relevant keywords, meta tags, and other SEO techniques, where applicable.
  • Review and revise copy to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to grammatical rules. Proofread for spelling and typographical errors.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (preferred but not always required for fresh graduates). While previous copywriting experience is a plus, fresh graduates can compensate by highlighting their relevant skills, demonstrating their potential through writing samples or projects, and expressing a strong willingness to learn and contribute to the field of copywriting.
  • Demonstrating a high level of proficiency in written communication is essential.
  • Having a portfolio or writing samples that showcase your ability to write persuasive and engaging copy is valuable. If you haven’t had professional experience, you can include writing samples from coursework, internships, personal projects, or a blog.
  • Familiarity with marketing principles and an understanding of consumer behavior can be beneficial. Showcasing an interest in marketing and the ability to adapt your writing to various target audiences can give you an edge.
  • Demonstrating strong research skills and the ability to gather information effectively will be valuable.
